No Hope In Turkana As Bandits Mercilessly Kills Innocent Souls Despite Operation

The Banditry attacks in the region of the North have continued to escalate even after the deployment of armed police officers in the region. Even after the deployment of police officers and through the anti-banditry force by the interior CS, not much has been able to change ever since.

The Kenyan North has been declared as a disturbed and dangerous region due to the activities of armed gunmen who continue to launch attacks targeting military and police operations. The joint military/police force deployed to the region is facing a nightmare in its efforts to trace and apprehend these criminals who are highly mobile and strike when least expected.

Multi-agency team which received information from members of the public proceeded to the scene whereby a shootout ensued and they managed to repulse the bandits. The injured were taken to Kakong’ Dispensary for treatment while the body was later transferred to Lodwar County Referral Hospital mortuary.

“Sisi hatuwezi fungwa mkono na mwingine anatukanyaga,” MP Samuel Moroto said after suspected Turkana bandits attacked West Pokot.

Kithure Kindiki might have to recalculate security operations in North Rift as bandits orchestrate weekly attacks.

Some residents have abandoned their homes and ran to safety after bandits raided their villages.
