Does She Know Something? Roselyne Akombe’s Comment on Sim Card Re-registration Raises Eyebrows

After the Communications Authority of Kenya instructed fresh registration of all mobile sim cards, Kenyans have been rushing back and forth in to Safaricom shops to beat the set deadline. A section of Kenyans have however vowed never to re-register their lines as they has already done so when they purchased their lines. Legal practitioners such as form LSK chairman Nelson Havi have even threatened to sue Safaricom id by any chance they block his line. With only six days to go, with the CAK set deadline being 14th of this month, Kenyan politicians, activists and legal practitioners have been sharing their views on the new registration or rather the fresh registration of all sim card lines.

One of the latest comments on the re-registration that has raised eyebrows was made by former Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyn Akombe. Akombe who controversially resigned from IEBC following the 2017 presidential elections crisis posted on her twitter page “They are back, Mama. Give us a sign” then added a hashtag #simcard left a number of Kenyans questioning the mystery behind her post, and whether she knew something about the re-registration that ordinary Kenyans had no idea about. Some even sked Akombe to say what she already knows about the 2017 elections that could guide to clues about what is planned for 2022. Here is a Roselyn Akombes message and some few comments from Kenyans
