Coach Frimpong Manso had to go four league matches before clinching a win having struggled with form in recent matches. At the Abrankese – Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, they edged league contenders Aduana FC for a deserving victory.

A narrow 1-0 win on Sunday afternoon, was enough to get Nations FC redeeming their lost favour at the side of their supporters.

It was Joseph Effah’s towering header that fired host side Nations FC into the lead against Aduana FC right on the 21st minute. Isaac Botchwey’s brilliant left-foot swing in, met the head of Effah who was located in the mist of two Aduana FC defenders but brilliantly connected to the out reach of Goalkeeper Prince Osei.

Despite, Aduana FC head coach Aristică Cioabă having Charles Kamara, Emmanuel Marfo and Daniel Awuni could not break the defense line of Nations FC which had Razak Simpson commanding.

With encounter ending 1-0 in the first half with both teams sharing possession equally, the host were comfortable detecting pace of game after recess. Coach Manso kept his side through to the hour mark before effecting changes to Nations FC, ensuring he was still in control of game at home.

Aduana FC’s technical team despite swapping Daniel Awuni and Evans Sarfo could not still found space in between Nations FC back line.

The visitors made series of brilliant incursions, however getting the leveller was not negotiable by Nations FC as the encounter ended 1-0 for the home team.

This victory ensured Nations FC ends their unbeaten run of three league games, after failing to secure victories over Swedru All Blacks, Vision FC and Karela United FC. Currently, Nations FC sit 11th on the league standing with 24 points.

WHAT NEXT?

Nations FC will travel to Samerboi to play FC Samertex 1996 on Sunday January 25, 2026. A side that successfully beat Karela United FC to end their unbeaten home run in Tamale and also handing them their first away victory of the campaign.
