A 25-year-old student of the Bauchi State College of Health, Ningi, Miss Rose Fanus, is appealing to well-meaning individuals, organisations and philanthropists for financial assistance to enable her continue treatment for kidney failure.

Fanus, who is currently undergoing dialysis at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, said her ordeal began in December 2025 when what initially appeared to be malaria developed into a serious health condition.

According to her, she started experiencing fever and severe vomiting and was taken to a hospital by her mother, where she received treatment and was discharged after a few days.

However, shortly after returning home, Fanus said she noticed that her stomach had become swollen and that her legs and face were retaining fluid.

“We returned to ATBUTH, where I was given treatment and later discharged. But after some days, my condition did not improve.

“They asked us to carry out some tests, and that was when they discovered that my kidneys had failed,” she said.

A medical report from ATBUTH, signed by the unit consultant, Dr Khamis Abdulsalam, confirmed Fanus’ condition.

The student, who is seeking support to continue her treatment and pursue her educational and life ambitions, appealed to individuals and organisations to come to her aid.

She can be reached on 09068257152, while her mother can be contacted on 08032730429.

Financial assistance can be sent through Opay account number 9129319664, in the name of Rose Fanus.
