How’s camp been so far?

It’s been fun.

It’s been different, obviously.

I kind of was assuming it was gonna be like the way rugby pre-season is, but it’s actually different ’cause we never do, I call it full contact or, like, live pads this often.

So the body’s still getting used to pads day to day, like, back to back, but I feel like I’m slowly improving, so I’m happy about that.

Can you take us through, like, your, the first time you explored the idea of American football?

It was actually when I was 16.

So I was in boarding school in England and I played, I was playing rugby, I was playing academy rugby and one of my favorite players called Christian Wade, he joined the same program that I joined this year and it was crazy because he played in the pre-season and scored a touchdown I think on his first or second drive.

So I kind of watched that story and I always knew I was like athletic so I kind of always had it in the back of my mind but I had rugby as an option and the only, the, when I really committed to it I think it was when I was I think 19 about, or no, when I’d just turned 20 and I was supposed to be playing rugby in France but that wasn’t working out and I was like, I’d watched Last Chance U which is funny and I just thought let me try and walk on as a college player so that was another interesting journey in itself.

Yeah, no, J-Lex is one of the best vets obviously.

He’s one of the best vets ’cause I mean what you’re saying like body type is similar, I would say rush style would probably be similar and seeing how he’s winning and kind of seeing like yeah if, if I sort myself out I can actually start winning like that is, I mean it’s just inspiring.

Would your answer change if Jay came in earlier?

I’d probably- I would have said the same thing.

They asked about J-Lex and I was like that’s my guy so.

Oh my God.

That’s my guy.

I’m a Stagger fan
