The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, says 72 per cent of Ghanaians approve of President John Dramani Mahama’s performance in office.
According to the latest poll by Global InfoAnalytics, 21 per cent of respondents disapprove of the President’s performance, while seven per cent have no opinion.
Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday, August 12, Mussa Dankwah said the approval rating reflected the President’s personal performance.
“This is based on his personal performance. Seventy-two per cent of Ghanaians approved his performance. Twenty-one per cent disapproved, and seven per cent had no opinion. The approval for this term of his presidency is very high. People are cool with him,” he said.
He said the President recorded his highest approval rating in the Upper West Region, where 92 per cent of respondents approved of his performance.
The Volta Region recorded 88 per cent approval, followed by the Northern Region with 72 per cent and the Eastern Region with 71 per cent.
The President’s lowest approval ratings were recorded in the Ashanti Region, at 56 per cent, and the North East Region, at 59 per cent.
Mussa Dankwah said the survey was based on 7,700 completed interviews and had a margin of error of plus or minus 1.5 percentage points.
The survey, conducted between July 15 and 24, 2026, serves as the baseline for a tracking exercise that Global InfoAnalytics intends to conduct periodically until the 2028 general elections.
On the direction of the country, 60 per cent of respondents said Ghana was heading in the right direction, while 28 per cent said the country was heading in the wrong direction.
The poll also found that 53 per cent of respondents believed their standard of living had improved compared with a year earlier, while 19 per cent said it had worsened.
