Jama (Savannah), Aug. 10, GNA – Nnaa Lanjagor Karley II, the Paramount Chief of the Jama Traditional Area in the Savannah Region, has called on the Bui Power Authority (BPA), managers of the Bui Generating Station to advance the development of the area.

He said the BPA ought to collaborate effectively with the traditional leaders in the area in tackling the emerging development needs of the people.

Nnaa Karley made the call during a stakeholder’s engagement meeting organised by the BPA at Jama in the Bole-Bambio district of the region.

The engagement offered opportunity for the Authority to present its 2025 Annual Report to the community members.

He said the operations of the BPA brought higher expectations of jobs and sustainable development among the people.

Nnaa Karley said regrettably, despite the operations of the Bui Dam, the Jama Township and adjoining communities like Jama Moonyoa, lacked electricity.

He said that connecting the area into the national electricity grid would not only create job opportunities for the locals but also open the area for rapid socio-economic growth and development.

“Electricity here will contribute significantly to economic activities and holistic development,” the Paramount Chief stated.

Nnaa Karley reaffirmed the commitment of the Jama Traditional Area to collaborate with the BPA and other stakeholders to bring the development of the area to the next level and to better the lives of the people.
