Award after 80 minutes of play
Hooker told TimesLIVE that after 80 minutes on the field, he was too exhausted and at the same time happy about the victory, so the individual award was not on his mind. He learned about the award from one of the team representatives.
Throughout the match, the winger was active in attack and defence. His tasks included chasing and catching high balls in cold gusty winds. Hooker said that he appreciates aerial contests because they require greater concentration and allow him to test himself.

Hooker also marked Will Jordan, one of the key players in the New Zealand team. At the same time, he said that he does not focus on opponents’ names or reputations, but aims to fulfil his role in a 23-player team.
In the rugby player’s view, the South African team’s advantage in scrums in the second half helped turn the match in its favour. He also noted tactical kicks after which the team often regained possession, as well as the support of the fans. The next, fourth match of the series is scheduled for next week in Baltimore, United States, at a neutral venue.
