Ghana’s reggae icon, Ras Kuuku, has made a passionate plea for unity within the Kantanka family, urging them to set aside their differences and allow Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to rest in peace. The musician, who hails from the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions surrounding the late spiritual leader’s funeral, which has drawn significant public attention.

In an interview with Okay FM, Ras Kuuku emphasized that the late apostle, known for his contributions as a spiritual leader, inventor, and industrialist, deserved a dignified and peaceful farewell rather than one marred by family disputes. His words reflect the broader sentiment of many Ghanaians who admire Kantanka’s legacy and wish for a harmonious resolution.

A Call for Unity Amid Chaos

Ras Kuuku, who typically avoids commenting on private family matters, felt compelled to speak out due to the gravity of the situation. He questioned the necessity of conflict, particularly in light of the late apostle’s immense respect and influence across the nation.

“I usually do not want to speak about people’s family matters, but they should let peace reign. How can your father be dead, and guns are being fired? How can siblings fight like that?” he asked, expressing shock at the unfolding drama.

The musician highlighted that the people of Dome-Kwabenya, where he grew up, were deeply invested in honoring Kantanka’s legacy. He urged the family to prioritize unity, assuring that the community would rally behind them once the funeral proceedings were completed peacefully.

“The people of Dome say they want peace. Anytime the funeral is done, we will all come and honor the legend, so they should let peace reign in the family,” he stated, reinforcing the collective desire for resolution.

Ongoing Legal and Social Tensions

The funeral disputes have escalated into a legal and social crisis, with the Accra High Court issuing an interim injunction to halt the proceedings. Despite this, thousands of mourners—including family members, followers of the Kristo Asafo Mission, and sympathizers—have gathered at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region to pay their last respects.

The conflict stems from disputes over funeral arrangements, the burial date, and the succession of Apostle Kantanka’s legacy. The situation has drawn national attention, with many questioning why a man of such reverence should be remembered amid such turmoil.

A Nation’s Grief and a Call for Reflection

Ras Kuuku’s appeal underscores a broader national sentiment—one of respect for Kantanka’s contributions and a plea for family harmony. His words serve as a reminder that even in the face of grief, unity should prevail over division.

As the funeral proceedings continue to unfold, the call for peace remains a critical issue, not just for the Kantanka family but for the entire nation. The late apostle’s legacy, built on spiritual leadership, innovation, and service, deserves to be honored in a manner that reflects his own teachings of peace and unity.

For now, the people of Ghana watch closely, hoping that reason will prevail and that Kantanka’s final journey will be one of dignity and respect, free from the shadows of conflict.
