Tadzewu (V/R), Aug. 25, GNA – Mrs Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata, Namibia’s High Commissioner in Accra, has commended Maphlix Trust Ghana Limited at Tadzewu in the Ketu North Municipality for its contribution to agricultural production and exports.
She said the company’s operations demonstrated the potential of agriculture to drive economic growth, create employment and expand market opportunities when supported with the needed investment.
Mrs Nghituwamata, who visited the company as part of her working visit to the Ketu North Municipality, described Maphlix Trust Ghana Limited as a shining example of what could be achieved through investment in agriculture.
She noted that as one of West Africa’s major exporters of vegetables and fruits, the company had demonstrated the importance of agribusiness in creating value and connecting local production to international markets.
Rev Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, said it was a great honour for the Municipality to host the Namibian High Commissioner and engage her on opportunities for cooperation and development.
He said discussions during the visit focused on how Namibia and Ketu North could strengthen their relationship through agriculture, support for local businesses, cultural exchanges and other development partnerships.
“A highlight of the visit was our tour of Maphlix Trust Ghana Limited at Tadzewu. The High Commissioner commended the company for its impressive work,” Rev Amenaki said.
He said the recognition of the company’s operations highlighted the enormous potential of the agricultural sector in Ketu North and the need for continued investment to support farmers, agribusinesses and other players along the agricultural value chain.
Rev Amenaki expressed appreciation to Mrs Nghituwamata for the visit and her interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration with the Municipality.
He said Ketu North remained open to partnerships that would create employment opportunities, expand markets for farmers, promote local businesses and improve the livelihoods of the people.
“We remain open for partnerships that will create jobs, expand markets for our farmers and improve lives across our communities,” the MCE said.
