Ho, Aug. 25, GNA – Mr Stephen Adom, the Ho Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has inspected the construction of a six-unit classroom block at Kpenoe to assess the progress of work, and ensure the project is completed to the required standards.
The one-storey educational facility comprises six classrooms, a library, teachers’ common room and a headmaster’s office.
The project, when completed, is expected to provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning in the community.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the inspection, Mr Adom said work on the project was progressing steadily and expressed confidence that its completion would improve educational infrastructure in Kpenoe.
He said the project formed part of efforts by the Government and the Ho Municipal Assembly to invest in infrastructure that directly responded to the needs of communities.
“The Government and the Ho Municipal Assembly remain committed to investing in projects that directly improve the lives of residents and create better opportunities for the next generation,” he said.
Mr Adom said the provision of adequate educational facilities was essential to improving the quality of teaching and learning, particularly in growing communities where existing infrastructure was under pressure.
He urged the contractors and other stakeholders involved in the project to maintain the required standards and ensure that the facility was completed within the agreed timeframe.
Staff and students at the beneficiary school expressed appreciation to the Government and the Ho Municipal Assembly for the project, saying the facility would significantly improve their teaching and learning environment.
They said the additional classrooms and supporting facilities would ease pressure on existing infrastructure and provide pupils and teachers with a better environment for academic work.
The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to provide infrastructure and other services needed to promote quality education and socio-economic development within the municipality.
