By Kingsley Mamore

Dambai (O/R), Aug. 25, GNA – Madam Bernice Dziedzorm Dordoe, an aspirant for the position of Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Krachi East Constituency, has pledged to deepen women’s participation in politics and development through grassroots empowerment initiatives.

Madam Dordoe, whose campaign is anchored on the slogan, “Empowering Women at the Grassroots,” said her decision to contest the position was motivated by her commitment to mobilising, supporting and creating opportunities for women to contribute meaningfully to the development of both the constituency and the party.

She said women at the grassroots remained a vital force in strengthening the political structures of the NDC and therefore deserved the necessary support, recognition and opportunities to participate actively in decision-making processes.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Madam Dordoe said her two-term experience as Deputy Women Organiser of the constituency had equipped her with the knowledge and experience required to address challenges confronting women in the area.

She explained that her interactions with women in various communities during her tenure revealed communication gaps, as well as a lack of confidence and trust among some women in female leadership.

According to her, addressing those concerns would require a leadership approach that promotes effective communication, builds trust and ensures that women feel valued and actively involved in the affairs of the party.

Madam Dordoe expressed confidence in her ability to lead the women’s wing of the party in the constituency and appealed to women delegates to entrust her with the mandate to serve as Women Organiser.

She said her vision was to enhance the profile and participation of women in the political landscape of Krachi East while fostering unity, solidarity and cooperation among women across the constituency.

“I am prepared to champion the issues affecting women and work closely with the grassroots to identify their challenges and promote practical interventions,” she said.

Madam Dordoe noted that, if elected, her administration would place emphasis on mobilisation, capacity-building and the creation of opportunities for women to develop their leadership and organisational skills.

She said empowering women at the community level would not only strengthen the NDC’s women’s wing but also contribute significantly to the party’s overall organisational growth.

The aspirant reiterated that her campaign slogan reflected her commitment to inclusive participation and ensuring that women at the grassroots remained central to the party’s development agenda.

Madam Dordoe is therefore seeking the support of women delegates on a platform of grassroots mobilisation, women’s empowerment and inclusive leadership.
