NPP cautions aspirants against monetising constituency elections

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) tasked to oversee the upcoming constituency elections in New Juaben South has cautioned aspirants seeking to lead the party in various positions within the constituency to reduce the monetary incentives they plan on giving to delegates for transport.

According to the leadership who have tasked aspirants to engage in a clean campaign, the unity of the party will be strengthened if aspirants desist from monetising the elections, which will be a breeding ground for acrimony after the elections.

Speaking to Channel One TV after the close of nomination and submission of forms, the national representative in charge of the 2026 elections for New Juaben South Constituency, Peter Kosoe, pleaded with aspirants not to monetise the election.

“We are urging the aspirants to go out and campaign. They should stop using money to entice people to go out and vote for them.

“We have also assured them that we are going to be fair to them in this election so that whoever loses doesn’t harbour any acrimony so that the NPP will emerge as the winner at the end of the day. We are also pleading with the various aspirants to minimise the amount of money that they will want to give to voters as TnT.”
