Ghana ready to partner investors for economic growth — Trade Minister

Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to attracting investment and strengthening economic ties with the United Kingdom, as the Ghana-UK Investment Summit 2026 drew to a close with renewed calls for deeper collaboration between investors and government.

Delivering the closing address, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, said Ghana was ready to work with investors to drive economic growth through strategic partnerships.

She described the summit as a reflection of the growing economic relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom and reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining a business-friendly environment for both local and foreign investors.

According to the Minister, the summit has provided a platform for strengthening economic cooperation and creating new opportunities in sectors such as trade, agribusiness, manufacturing, technology and infrastructure.

She expressed confidence in Africa’s prospects and urged investors to increase their investments on the continent, adding that Ghana remains a preferred destination and gateway for businesses seeking opportunities across Africa.

She assured investors that the government would continue implementing policies aimed at promoting investment, industrial growth, and sustainable economic development.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare commended the Ghanaian and British High Commissioners, sponsors, development partners, speakers, panelists, and participants for their contributions to the success of the summit.

“On behalf of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, we commend our two High Commissioners, the staff, sponsors, partners, speakers, panelists, and above all, you, the potential investors and participants for gracing this summit with your presence,” she said.

The summit is expected to generate new partnerships and investment commitments that will support economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in Ghana.
