Ghana to play Laryea Kingston’s Uganda in Playoff for U-17 World Cup Qualification

Ghana’s National Under 17 Men’s Football Team, the Black Starlets, will compete against Uganda in a playoff tie with the winner qualifying to the Under 17 FIFA World Cup slated to take place in Qatar from November 19 to December 13.

This comes on the back of the Black Starlets failing to qualify to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Under 17 AFCON in Morocco.

Despite securing a 3-1 win over South Africa to register four points, Ghana finished third in Group D behind winners Senegal and Algeria.

Ghana and Algeria tied on points and goal difference but missed out on qualification to the next round of the Under 17 AFCON after drawing lots with Algeria; Ghana picked the inferior lot with Algeria picking the superior lot.
