Gabriel Tanko attends the 66 Artillery Regiment’s 60th Anniversary Amid Absence Rumours

Contrary to speculation that he had travelled outside the country, Gabriel Tanko made a public appearance today at the 60th Anniversary Grand Durbar of the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho.

The event, held under the theme “Six Decades of Dedicated Service,” brought together military personnel, dignitaries, and members of the public to celebrate the regiment’s longstanding contribution to national security.

Addressing attendees, Mr. Tanko described the occasion as a significant milestone that reflects the discipline, sacrifice, and enduring strength of the Ghana Armed Forces. He praised the resilience and professionalism of both past and present personnel, noting that their unwavering commitment continues to safeguard the country’s peace and stability.

“My admiration goes to the unquenchable spirit of the men and women who continue to serve with courage, dedication, and precision,” he said. “Through changing times and challenges, they have held the line with resilience and honour.”

He further expressed gratitude to the military for their service, emphasizing the important role they play in shaping national identity and inspiring pride among citizens.

Marking six decades of service, Mr. Tanko commended the regiment’s legacy, adding, “Sixty years on, your legacy remains formidable. Once a Gunner, Always a Gunner.”
His presence at the ceremony effectively puts to rest rumours suggesting he was out of the country.

The 66 Artillery Regiment has been a key unit within the Ghana Armed Forces, contributing significantly to peacekeeping operations and national defence over the years.
