Let us with a gladsome mind praise the Lord for his goodness in making it possible for us to witness yet another Easter, a time to reflect upon the travails of Jesus Christ, his death, resurrection and the lessons thereof.

As a Messiah present in both the Abrahamic scriptures of Christianity and Islam, his teachings play a pivotal role in the lives of those who hold dear and true the monotheism of the Creator.

It is auspicious that Easter coincides with the important Jewish religious rite of Passover. As the holiest period in the Christian calendar, it is also coming on the heels of the end of the holiest month of the Islamic Lunar calendar which also coincided with Lent.

For us, the foregone present for members of the Abrahamic faiths another opportunity to think about the importance of interfaith harmony as members of humanity and to work to enhance it.

Easter is an embodiment of the heart of Christian theology which presents us with lessons about the mystical powers of God, the comprehension of aspects of which are beyond mere mortals.

The critical components of Easter are a validation of the mysticism of Jesus Christ and the need for us to hold dear contents of the scriptures, the bottom-line of which is to ensure we lead Godly lives so our world would be devoid of dangerous iniquities.

Resurrection, as the most outstanding fulfillment of the prophecy of God, should be enough for charlatans who out of monetary gains have turned themselves into mercenary prophets who use the pulpit to hoodwink the spiritually weak in society in need of deliverance.

Easter is coming at a time of great tribulations locally and internationally; war in the Middle East, the repercussions of which are being felt globally.

It is our prayer that the holiness of the times and the intercessions to be uttered by men and women who are close to God bring peace to the troubled parts of the world.

The world has never come to the precipice since the events of WWII. One principal actor is driving the world to the precipice as religious leaders with influence fold their arms looking on helplessly.

International law has been thrown out of the window as the strong invade lands outside their jurisdictions and those not ready to play to the dictates of technology-endowed bullies are made to reel over biting and killer sanctions.

Let the teachings of Christ during his short but monumental ministry reflect in the doings of humanity, especially leaders.

Let us think about the covenant between humanity and God and avoid the iniquities which impede our ability to reconcile with God.

Moral and ethical living are being impaired by both leaders and the led like there is no death and judgment.

The flip-flopping on issues of religious morality at the hands of policymakers even as sections of the clergy turn their backs on these iniquities stand prominent on the public space.

In a world on the superhighway of technology, many things are happening, some of them destructive to nature, the outcome being climate change and its attendant drawbacks.

Let the holy moments be about reflection and how to make the world a better place to inhabit.

Let us reconnect with the essence of our faith as believers in monotheism and the ministry of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
