Star Oil Expands Network to 282 Filling Stations as Monthly Sales Rise by Over 24 Million Litres
Star Oil has expanded its presence in Ghana’s petroleum retail market after adding 32 filling stations this year, bringing its total number of outlets to 282, according to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Kwame Tieku.
Tieku disclosed that the company’s expansion has been accompanied by a significant increase in fuel sales, with monthly volumes rising by more than 24 million litres compared to the levels recorded in 2025.
He also revealed that Star Oil’s share of Ghana’s retail petroleum market had increased from 13 per cent last year to 15 per cent this year, reflecting the company’s growing presence in the downstream petroleum sector.
The addition of 32 stations represents a further expansion of the company’s retail network, increasing its reach and providing more locations for motorists and other fuel consumers to access its products.
The reported growth in monthly sales also points to an increase in the volume of petroleum products sold through the company’s operations. However, the figures provided by the CEO did not specify the exact monthly sales volume or the period used to calculate the increase.
The rise in market share from 13 per cent to 15 per cent indicates a two-percentage-point increase in Star Oil’s position within Ghana’s retail fuel market.
The development highlights the company’s continued expansion amid competition among petroleum marketing companies operating in Ghana.
Tieku’s announcement places Star Oil among the major players in the country’s fuel retail industry, with its growing station network and increased market share strengthening its position in the sector.
