Senior Tanzanian Minister Who Attended Charlene Ruto Wedding On behalf Of President Suluhu

Tanzania’s Prime Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, was among the senior government officials who attended the wedding of Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto, held in Mwanza on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Nchemba represented Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the ceremony, which brought together prominent guests, family members and invited dignitaries from Kenya and Tanzania.

Charlene exchanged marriage vows with Isaya Yunge, a Tanzanian entrepreneur, during a colourful ceremony held at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza, along the shores of Lake Victoria.

The wedding attracted attention because of the families involved, bringing together members of two neighbouring countries with longstanding diplomatic, economic and cultural ties.

According to information shared by the Tanzanian government, Nchemba attended the occasion on behalf of President Samia, who was unable to be present.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by his wife, Mama Neema Mwigulu, as they joined other invited guests in celebrating the couple’s union.

The presence of senior Tanzanian officials showed the close relationship between the leadership of Kenya and Tanzania, with the wedding providing an opportunity for guests from both countries to meet outside official government engagements.

Charlene, one of President William Ruto’s children, has been involved in various youth empowerment and entrepreneurship initiatives. She has also maintained a public profile through her activities and engagements in Kenya and beyond.

Mwanza, one of Tanzania’s major cities, provided the setting for the high-profile celebration. Its location along Lake Victoria made Malaika Beach Resort a fitting venue for the occasion.

The event comes at a time when Kenya and Tanzania continue to strengthen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, tourism and regional development.

The wedding was attended by relatives, friends and other invited guests, making it a significant social gathering involving personalities from both East African nations.
