“Broadbased Arrangement is a Scam” Mbadi, Junet, Wanga, Oburu and Others Warned Ahead of 2027
A political storm could be brewing within the broad-based government as fresh warnings emerge from a former insider who believes the arrangement may be misleading leaders and voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nairobi politician Mohamed Ali has issued a stern warning to leaders from the Nyanza region, including Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Senator Oburu Oginga, questioning the value of their continued association with the broad-based arrangement.
Speaking about his past involvement in the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the government, Mohamed Ali said his experience had given him a different perspective on the political partnership.
The former government ally maintained that leaders should be cautious about the promises and political commitments surrounding the arrangement, arguing that the partnership could be a deceptive political strategy.
“We were once part of UDA and the government. I want to remind leaders from Nyanza that the broad-based arrangement is a scam,” Mohamed Ali stated.
His remarks are likely to intensify political discussions within the opposition and among leaders who have embraced cooperation with President William Ruto’s administration.
With the 2027 General Election drawing closer, political alliances are increasingly becoming a subject of debate, with leaders weighing the benefits of cooperation against the possibility of losing their political independence.
Mohamed Ali’s warning also raises questions about the long-term future of the broad-based arrangement and whether its supporters will remain united as the election approaches.
For Mbadi, Junet, Wanga, Oburu and other leaders associated with the arrangement, the challenge could be explaining to their supporters why the partnership remains beneficial.
As political temperatures rise, the broad-based arrangement is likely to face growing scrutiny from both its supporters and critics.
