Africa Women’s Sevens: Full schedule as Kenya Lionesses set for Pool B clash in Nairobi

The 2026 Africa Women’s Sevens tournament kicks off in Nairobi on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with 11 national teams set to compete over two days for continental honours and a place in the 2027 HSBC SVNS 3 competition.

The tournament will be staged at the RFUEA Grounds, with the opening matches scheduled from 9am on Saturday before the competition moves into the knockout stages on Sunday, November 8, 2026.

Kenya has been drawn in Pool B alongside Tunisia and Ghana, giving the hosts three matches in the opening round as they target a strong run on home soil.

Pool A features defending continental champions South Africa alongside Zambia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

South Africa, which has won the continental title 13 times, is ineligible for the qualification slot because it has already secured a place in the HSBC SVNS 2 competition.

The highest-ranked team outside South Africa will earn Africa’s qualification berth for the 2027 HSBC SVNS 3 competition.

The opening day’s action begins at 9:00 am with Madagascar taking on Mauritius in Pool C.

Uganda will then face Burkina Faso before Pool B action begins with Tunisia playing Ghana at 9:44am.

Kenya’s first match comes at 1:34 pm when the hosts take on Ghana, before they return to the field at 4:40 pm for their final pool match against Tunisia.

The tournament moves into the knockout phase on Sunday, with the quarter-finals beginning at 9:00 am.

The four pool winners and the best-performing runners-up will advance to the Cup quarter-finals, while the remaining teams will compete in classification matches.

The first Cup quarter-final will pit the winner of Pool B against the best third-placed team, followed by the winner of Pool C against the Pool A runner-up.

The Pool B runner-up will meet the Pool C runner-up in the third quarter-final, while the Pool A winner will face the second-best third-placed side in the final quarter-final.

The semi-finals are scheduled for the afternoon, with the bronze and gold finals bringing the tournament to a conclusion later on Sunday.

The tournament’s results will determine the African champion as well as the team that claims the continent’s qualification place for the 2027 HSBC SVNS 3 competition.

Fans unable to attend at the RFUEA Grounds can follow the action live through RugbyPass TV and Rugby Africa’s YouTube and Facebook platforms.
