Many Ghanaian Millionaires Are Former Cocaine Dealers — Daasebre Drops Bombshell
Top broadcaster Daasebre Agyei Dwamena has said what many Ghanaians are afraid to say.
He says Ghana’s economy is not built on hard work. It is built on blood money.
“If it’s not cocaine, then it is galamsey money,” he stated bluntly.
According to Daasebre, a lot of the rich men we see today flaunting wealth, buying big cars, building mansions, and being invited to TV as motivational speakers, did not make their money from clean business.
He revealed that in their early days, many of these so-called business moguls were drug dealers. They sold cocaine to make money. Today, they want us to forget that past and respect them as successful entrepreneurs.
And it has not stopped. Daasebre says the same dirty money is still running the country.
If it is not cocaine money, then it is galamsey money.
Look around, he says. Galamsey — illegal mining — is destroying our rivers, our forests, our cocoa farms. But it is bringing billions of dollars. In 2025 alone, small-scale mining brought $11 billion — more than the big mining companies. Most of this money is not recorded in the budget, yet it is what is keeping the cedi alive.
That money is blood money. It comes from polluted water, dead lands, and young men dying in pits.
And when cocaine shipments worth hundreds of millions of dollars are linked to Ghana, that is also blood money.
Daasebre made the call on United Showbiz, urging the producers to stop inviting fake motivational speakers and rather discuss the real story: How Ghana’s big men made money from cocaine.
His message is simple: You cannot build a 24-hour economy on drugs and destroyed rivers.
If Ghana’s economy is truly being run with cocaine and galamsey money, then we are sitting on a time bomb. Today it is water pollution and drug busts. Tomorrow it will be guns and a lost generation.
Blood money can run an economy for a while, but it will kill the country in the end.
