Medikal Reacts After Ghanaian Teen Is Shot Dead In New York
According to a report by Ghbase News on Monday November 2, 2026, Ghanaian rapper Medikal has appealed to Ghanaians living abroad to consider returning home following the tragic death of 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, a Ghanaian teenager who was reportedly shot dead in the Bronx, New York.
The heartbreaking incident involving the young teenager has sparked sadness and renewed conversations about the safety and experiences of Ghanaians living outside the country.
Reacting to the tragedy in a post on social media, Medikal encouraged his fellow Ghanaians who have spent many years overseas to think about coming back home.
The award-winning musician pointed to his colleague, Tee Flow, as an example of someone who has recently returned to Ghana.
“To all my brothers and sisters abroad, if ebi long for outside, come home like my brother Tee Flow just did. We are starting the #Brafie program now. #Brafie,” he wrote.
Medikal’s message comes at a time when news of Javits Frimpong’s death has left many Ghanaians both at home and abroad devastated.
The death of the teenager has drawn attention to the dangers and challenges that can confront young people living in foreign countries.
While many Ghanaians travel abroad in search of better opportunities, education and improved living conditions, Medikal’s comments suggest that those who have spent a considerable period outside the country should also consider the possibility of returning home and contributing to life in Ghana.
By referencing Tee Flow’s recent return, Medikal appeared to promote a broader conversation about reconnecting with home and encouraging members of the Ghanaian diaspora to see Ghana as a place where they can build their future.
His post, however, was particularly striking because it followed the tragic loss of a young Ghanaian life in the United States.
As tributes continue to pour in for Javits Frimpong, Medikal’s appeal has added another voice to the growing discussion surrounding the safety, welfare and future of Ghanaians living abroad.
