Veteran Ghanaian actress Adwoa Smart has received a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment after floods destroyed her previous home.

The apartment was gifted to her by Ghanaian businesswoman and philanthropist Maame Gold through the Maame Gold Foundation, with support from some of her close friends.

Maame Gold said she decided to help the actress after discovering the extent of the damage caused by the floods when she dropped her off at her residence.

According to the businesswoman, Adwoa Smart rarely discusses her personal challenges and initially declined an offer of assistance when she attempted to help her.

She subsequently organised a surprise presentation, inviting the actress under the pretext of visiting someone else.

Adwoa Smart was visibly emotional when she discovered that the fully furnished apartment had been prepared for her.

The apartment comes with essential furniture and household items to help the actress settle into her new home.

Overwhelmed by the gesture, the actress blessed Maame Gold for remembering her and coming to her aid at a difficult point in her life.

The emotional moment has also drawn attention to the challenges faced by people whose homes are destroyed by floods, and the role that personal support and community generosity can play in helping them recover.
