Sifuna’s Campaign Manager Calls Kalonzo,Gachagua,Matiangi To Do This Before 2027, Cites Raila’s Past

A firm warning has echoed across Kwale County today as Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, recently appointed chairperson of Edwin Sifuna’s presidential campaign team, has called on key opposition figures to prioritize vote protection ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Addressing thousands of gathered supporters during the ongoing Linda Mwananchi Movement tour, Natembeya has directed his message to prominent leaders including Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and Jubilee’s Fred Matiang’i.

Reports broadcast by Radio Generation have highlighted his insistence that the opposition must establish robust polling station safeguards rather than depending on post-election judicial remedies.

Taking firm command of the podium during the coastal rally, Natembeya has stressed that the focus must remain squarely on preventing potential electoral malpractices on the ground.

He has argued that relying on petitions in the Supreme Court after official results have been declared has historically proven ineffective for opposition formations.

To reinforce his point, the campaign chairperson has cited past election disputes, specifically pointing to the experiences of the late ODM leader Raila Odinga and the aftermath of the 2022 general elections—as vital lessons from which all opposition contenders must learn.

Natembeya has cautioned that simply accumulating massive public goodwill across regions will count for little if polling centers lack vigilant agents to protect every single ballot.

He has urged Kalonzo, Gachagua and Matiang’i to focus their collective energies on organizing grassroots defense mechanisms early, asserting that election victories are secured at the voting stream rather than inside courtroom walls.

This strategic appeal has resonated strongly among the attendees, highlighting a growing consensus on election preparedness within the opposition ranks.

By drawing on historical precedents, Natembeya has sought to instill operational discipline and foresight as coalitions begin shaping their strategies.

As Sifuna’s motorcade has continued its sweep through Kwale, Natembeya’s call for proactive vote protection has added a pragmatic, reform-minded dimension to the movement’s countrywide messaging.
