Sunday Blackouts: Kenya Power Names Areas To Be Affected By Planned Maintenance

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in several parts of the country on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as the utility company carries out maintenance on its power distribution network.In a notice released on Saturday, October 31, the company listed areas in Nairobi, Machakos, Kisumu, Siaya, Bungoma and Kiambu counties that will be affected by the scheduled exercise.

In Nairobi County, the interruption will affect parts of Parklands, including sections of Masari Road, Zind and Third Parklands, Baywaters, Doctors Plaza and neighbouring customers.

In Machakos County, areas around Athi River will experience an outage. The affected locations include Alpharama, Old Mombasa Road, Petrocity, Sabaki Estate, Greatwall Gardens, Tamarind, London Distillers, Lifecare, Sapphire Business Park and Signature Mall.

Other affected areas include Ngwata, Miolongo, Riverpark Estate, Kims Business Park, Nova School, Makadara, Acacia Estate, NITA, Saj Ceramics and neighbouring customers.

In Kisumu County, the maintenance will affect Sondu and Miwani. Customers around Bethlehem Hospital and Bishop Okumu, as well as Miwani Boys,

Gondi Oraro, Nyangeta Police and Makini Home, were listed in the notice.

In Siaya County, the affected locations are Sirembe and Aluor, including nearby schools and market centres. Parts of Bungoma County, particularly Mabanga and Ndengelewa, will also experience the interruption.In Kiambu County, the notice lists Gatuanyaga, Makongeni and Kiganjo, among other locations, including Kangoki, Buffalo Estate, Kabati, Kwa Magu, Komo Market and Munyu Market.

Kenya Power advised customers in the listed areas to plan ahead for the temporary disruption as maintenance work is undertaken.
