Bayern Munich and Ajax Told to Reject Invitation to Play at Raila Odinga International Stadium

Bayern Munich and Ajax have been told to reject Invitation to play a friendly match during the opening of Raila Odinga International Stadium (Talanta Stadium).

President Ruto on Wednesday made a mega announcement revealing that Bayern Munich and Ajax will play a friendly match during the opening of the Raila Odinga International Stadium on 5th January 2027.

However, the two big teams have been told to reject the invitation to play during the opening of the Kenya’s World Class Stadium which has been named after Raila Odinga.

According to Kenyan Activist Boniface Mwangi, the two teams should reject the invitation to do public relations for a government that kills its own citizens for demanding better governance.

“These two teams should decline any invitation to do public relations for a government that kills its own citizens simply for demanding better governance. Tumekataa” Reads Boniface Mwangi’s statement in part.

Activist Mwangi also demanded that Government reveals to the public the total amount of tax payers’ money that will be spent on the proposed exhibition match. He revealed that he has already instructed his lawyers to file a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to obtain the full cost of Bayern Munich Vs Ajax Match that will be hosted at Raila Odinga International Stadium.

In his statement, Boniface Mwangi accused President Ruto of planning to pay Ksh 250-300 million using tax payers’ money to each of the teams in appearance fee. He also castigated President Ruto and his administration for going for foreign teams instead of giving a chance to local teams or even top African teams.

“Talanta Stadium is ours. We will not allow our taxes to pay for foreign teams” Boniface Mwangi.

The activist has now told Bayern Munich and Ajax to reject any invitation to play during the opening of the Raila Odinga International Stadium.
