West Kenya Sugar Company Ltd is set to build a Sh4.2 billion new sugar factory in Nandi County, tightening tycoon Jaswant Rai’s grip on the local industry.
The factory, with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes of cane per day (TCD), will be located in Chesumei Sub-County, Nandi County—expanding West Kenya Sugar Company Limited’s foothold beyond its current base in the western Kenya sugar belt.
