REVEALED: What Bomet Teacher and Her Husband Happily Did Hours Before They Were Found Dead

Fresh details have emerged about the final hours of Bomet teacher Viola Cherotich Kirui and her husband, Joseph Kirui, before they were found dead at their home, leaving their family and neighbours shocked.

According to relatives, the couple travelled to Bomet town together before returning to their home in Segerot village. They reportedly appeared cheerful and showed no obvious signs of trouble during their outing.

Their family was left in disbelief when news of their deaths emerged the following morning. Relatives said nobody had raised an alarm or anticipated the tragedy.

Joseph worked as a nurse at Longisa County Referral Hospital, while Viola was a primary school teacher. The couple had been married for 21 years and had three children.

However, reports indicate that they had experienced marital disagreements over the years. The exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain under investigation.Viola was reportedly found unresponsive inside their house, while Joseph was discovered dead within the family compound. Police suspect that Joseph killed his wife before taking his own life.

Postmortem findings raised further questions about Viola’s death, with preliminary examinations suggesting that she may have been injected with a poisonous substance. Signs of strangulation were also noted around her neck.

Samples collected from her body were sent to the Government Chemist for further tests to establish the cause of death.

The tragedy has left the couple’s three children without either parent, prompting relatives to appeal for financial assistance to support their education and basic needs.

During the burial in Segerot village, family members asked the Bomet County government, local leaders and well wishers to help secure the children’s future.Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok urged couples experiencing marital difficulties to seek professional counselling and support from trusted relatives, friends and colleagues.

The deaths have renewed concerns about domestic violence and the need for couples facing persistent disagreements to seek help before situations escalate.

Investigations are continuing as the family struggles to come to terms with the loss of two parents whose final hours appeared ordinary to those around them.
