The counties listed include Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale, Lamu, Machakos, Mandera, Meru, Migori, Mombasa, Murang’a, Nairobi, Nakuru, Nandi, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Siaya, Tana River, Tharaka-Nithi, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Wajir and West Pokot.
The forecast indicates that rainfall distribution will vary from one region to another, meaning some areas may experience showers while others could receive thunderstorms at different times of the day.
In Nairobi, the expected rainfall could affect commuters, motorists and residents going about their daily activities. Those travelling during rainy periods are encouraged to exercise caution, particularly on roads prone to flooding and waterlogging.
Residents of West Pokot and other counties in the western and Rift Valley regions should also remain alert to changing weather conditions. People living near rivers, steep slopes and other vulnerable areas are encouraged to take necessary precautions whenever heavy rainfall occurs.
Farmers may welcome the expected showers, especially those preparing their farms for planting during the short-rains season. However, they should continue monitoring official weather updates to make informed decisions about planting and other agricultural activities.
Kenyans are advised to follow updates from the meteorological department as conditions may change throughout the forecast period.
The latest announcement highlights the importance of staying informed as the country moves deeper into the October–December rainy season.
