Brian George, a Kenyan NTV journalist, has been recognised as one of the winners of the 2026 Dubai UAE 40 Under 40 Global Awards, a top international honour celebrating young professionals making a big impact in their fields.

Brian was selected in the Journalism (Radio, TV & Newspaper) category, placing him among outstanding global achievers from around the world.

The awards ceremony will take place from April 7th to 11th, 2026, in Dubai, where he will receive his trophy, deliver a keynote speech, and connect with other influential innovators and change-makers.

“I’ll be headed to the Middle East to collect my award in April, to give a keynote, network with other global change makers, and ultimately represent African kids in the best way that I can,” Brian shared in a LinkedIn post.

For Kenya and the wider African tech space, the recognition is a proud moment, proving that African narratives, founders, and innovations are gaining the global spotlight they deserve.

Why Brian George Was Recognised

Brian George earned this honour for his consistent dedication to illuminating Africa’s growing technological ecosystem. His work focuses on showing how African innovators build real solutions for real challenges.

Over the years, he has pioneered tech storytelling on TV through programs such as “The Innovator” and “Techfile” during his earlier years at KTN News.

Today, he hosts “Techover,” a show on NTV Kenya dedicated to African technology, startups, trends, and digital progress.

The show is broadcast across eight East African countries, helping push African tech conversations into mainstream media and making Brian one of the region’s leading storytellers in digital innovation.

“My honorarium follows my career’s dedication to telling African tech stories, homegrown startups, and innovation, both in media and in events in Kenya, Africa, and the rest of the world,” notes Brian.

The Dubai award recognises this commitment and celebrates his continued work shining a light on the African tech ecosystem, its founders, and the ideas shaping the future.

Boost from Global Training and Academic Excellence

Part of what makes Brian stand out is his strong international exposure. He is a CNN Academy 2025 alumnus, having represented Kenya, East Africa, and Central Africa as the only participant from the region in the program held at the University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland.

This advanced training helped him refine his storytelling skills, understand global media trends, and strengthen his approach to digital journalism. He also holds an MBA in Digital Journalism from the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communication (AKU-GSMC), giving him a powerful mix of academic knowledge and practical media experience.

Moderator and Speaker on Global Stages

Beyond TV reporting and program hosting, Brian George is well known as a global moderator and speaker, frequently invited to lead discussions at important international events.

He has spoken and moderated at gatherings such as the United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS+4), the Visa Cybersecurity Summit for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (Dubai 2023), sessions by Google and Amazon Web Services, and the Africa Tech Summit in the UK, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria.

He has also worked with the African Union and Afreximbank. His professional journey has taken him to 28 countries, proving the trust global organisations have in his voice and expertise.

Communications Consultant and Writer

Brian, also known as Branji, works as a strategic communications consultant, helping brands across Africa shape public messages, manage PR situations, and connect with the right audiences.

His areas of knowledge include tech, startups, public finance, taxation, investment banking, sovereign debt, climate financing, business, and governance. He also writes for The East African and Business Daily Africa, adding depth to his journalism.

Outside work, Brian enjoys golfing, reading, researching, and travelling, and plays golf with a handicap of 27.
