The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, has toured some armed robbery-prone areas in the region, assuring residents of maximum protection of lives and property.

The visit follows concerns raised by residents over armed robbery activities in areas such as Kronum and its surrounding communities.

The tour was aimed at engaging residents, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders to gather firsthand information and identify practical solutions to the problem.

During the visit on Wednesday, DCOP Osei Akoto urged the public to report criminal activities to the police, emphasising that reporting incidents helps investigators gather evidence, even if stolen items are not immediately recovered.

He encouraged residents to abandon the mindset that reporting crimes is futile if stolen goods are not retrieved, stressing that “reporting helps us build cases against criminals.”

The police team, which included senior officers, met with residents and stakeholders to discuss strategies to curb the menace.

The delegation comprised DCOP Osei Akoto, Deputy Regional Police Commander ACP Francis Kwame, DSP Andrews Adom Okyere, Gordon Ahianwo, ACP Ibrahim, Superintendent Christopher Owusu, Hon. Soul, and Hon. Obour, among others.
