This follows a court order issued by Justice B.M Majani on Friday which barred the federation from taking any such action.
The ruling said: “That pending the hearing and determination of this application the Respondents are hereby restrained by an order of temporary injunction from taking any steps intended to fill the Claimant’s position in substantive capacity.
The person appointed to serve in the positions to do so strictly on acting basis untilfurther directions by the court,” said the ruling.
The matter shall be mentioned on 23 March for further directions.
Ndege has been facing an ouster from the federation for the past two months, with 21 allegations leveled against him, a matter that found its way to the corridors of justice.
But on two occasions, he has issued a rebuttal dismissing some of the allegations against him.
Ndege was appointed to the position nine months ago.
Apart from Ndege , Gicheru had also been considered for appointment to the position when the Hussein Mohammed-led administration took over the reins of football in December 2024.
A close ally of Mohammed, Gicheru held the same position at Wazito FC before its dissolution.
Gicheru is a retired footballer, who played as a defender for Wazito FC, KCB FC, Posta Rangers Kangemi All Stars and Leviticus FC,before hanging his boots and retreating to his legal career, where he was admitted to the bar in 2021.
