Video: Elsa Majimbo in Emotional State as She Narrates Hurtful Things She Experiences

A video of Kenyan comedian Elsa Majimbo expressing her emotions has drawn attention after she opened up about some of the challenges she faces as a public figure.

In the video, the comedian appeared emotional as she explained how difficult it sometimes becomes to deal with comments directed at her on social media.

Majimbo said she rarely makes videos of that nature but felt the need to speak out because the situation had become overwhelming.

She explained that she often keeps to herself, spends much of her time alone and does not enjoy attending parties. She added that when she attends public events, it is usually because she supports the activities or causes behind them.

The comedian questioned why she continues to receive negative treatment despite making an effort not to interfere in other people’s lives.

She also spoke about the insults directed at her whenever she shares pictures of herself in different outfits.

According to Majimbo, some people have resorted to calling her offensive names because of her dressing, including describing her as a prostitute.

She further revealed that her slim appearance has attracted speculation about her personal life, with some people spreading rumours that she uses drugs.

Majimbo expressed frustration over how people make such assumptions about her without knowing what she goes through or understanding her personal circumstances.

Her video has brought attention to the effects of online bullying, particularly on people who spend much of their lives in the public eye.

Majimbo rose to international fame in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic after her humorous videos featuring crisps, sunglasses and her distinctive laughter went viral.

The Nairobi-born comedian quickly attracted a global audience, earning recognition beyond Kenya.

Her success opened doors to international fashion and entertainment opportunities, including collaborations with major brands such as Valentino, Fenty and MAC Cosmetics.

She was also featured in Forbes’ 2022 list of top creators, further cementing her position as an internationally recognised Kenyan digital personality.
