Meet Stephanie Ruto: Inside the Life of William Ruto’s Daughter Who Avoids Public Attention

Stephanie Jepchumba Ruto has rarely sought the attention of President William Ruto’s family. While her sister Charlene is often seen at public events, Stephanie has largely kept a lower profile, making her appearance at Charlene’s wedding in Tanzania a talking point among Kenyans.

The wedding took place at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza on Friday, November 6, 2026. Stephanie joined her sisters as Charlene married Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge. The family occasion offered Kenyans a glimpse of a daughter who is rarely in the public eye.

Away from family appearances, Stephanie has pursued her own professional path. She graduated from Strathmore University with a Bachelor of Laws degree on June 28, 2019.

Her parents, William and Rachel Ruto, attended the ceremony. Her father congratulated her publicly, praising her commitment and urging her to uphold justice and impartiality in the legal profession.

She later enrolled in the Kenya School of Law’s Advocates Training Programme for the 2020–2021 academic year. Stephanie has also spoken about her work.

During a public appearance in February 2026, she described herself as a children’s officer and said she works closely with children.

That commitment came into focus when she represented her family at a fundraiser for St Mary’s Rehabilitation Centre in Mbiuni, Machakos County. She presented a KSh 3 million contribution from her father and family to support the centre.

Stephanie said she had been selected because of her professional connection to children. She added that she was not a politician and rarely speaks in public.

She has shared lighter details about her interests, too. At a 2024 World Children’s Day event, she spoke about enjoying cycling, an interest developed while growing up in a farming community. She also mentioned chapati as her favourite food.

For now, Stephanie appears content to keep her life private, stepping forward occasionally for family and causes close to her heart.
