William Ruto’s Expensive Designer Blazer Steals Attention as Price Emerges After Charlene’s Wedding

President William Ruto’s distinctive outfit at his daughter Charlene’s wedding has continued to generate conversations online, with Kenyans now learning how much his designer blazer reportedly costs.

The Head of State attended the November 6 wedding in Mwanza, Tanzania, wearing a striking red-and-black blazer featuring intricate patterns resembling hieroglyphic symbols.

He paired the statement piece with a white shirt, black bow tie and a cream fedora finished with a wide maroon band. Ruto also carried a twisted wooden walking cane, completing his look.

The blazer stood out for its red velvet collar and lapels, gold buttons and decorative studs on the cuffs.

Its designer was identified as Stefano Ricci, an Italian luxury fashion brand, by Kenyan menswear retailer Zannetti Gents Fashion.

In a Facebook post on Friday, November 6, the retailer said it was taking direct orders for the garment following strong public interest sparked by Ruto’s appearance.

According to the outlet, the blazer costs from approximately $7,000, translating to about KSh 904,000. The final price depends on the size and availability.

The reported price prompted mixed reactions, with some Kenyans impressed by the outfit while others questioned its cost.

Jeniffer Isaya joked that the blazer had become a talking point among the Luo community, writing: “Luos will not let us rest with this blazer.”

Evelyn Kibuchi sought clarification on the quoted price, asking: “Did you mean KSh or USD?”

Otieno Ngoye predicted that the design could become widely popular, saying: “If everyone is asking for it, then it is gonna be the ‘Kenya uniform’.”

Njuguna Muya was less impressed, questioning the difference between the designer piece and an ordinary blazer.

Hooligan Jakogalo also joined the conversation, joking that pastors would soon be wearing similar outfits.

Ruto’s fashion choice was among several moments from Charlene’s wedding that attracted attention online, alongside the ceremony’s elaborate decorations and the outfits worn by invited guests.
