Gachagua Sends Challenge to All Opposition Leaders and What They Should Do To Defeat Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has challenged opposition leaders to demonstrate their commitment to removing President William Ruto from power ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking on Tuesday, November 3, Gachagua questioned what his colleagues in the opposition had achieved during his two-month absence, suggesting that political leaders needed to do more than hold meetings in hotels.

“My colleagues in the opposition, I was away for two months. What work did you do? The political talk died down and now it’s back up” Gachagua posed.

He further warned that defeating Ruto would require serious political mobilisation, noting that the President was already working to strengthen his support ahead of the next election.

“We cannot remove Ruto while sitting in hotels. Ruto is not sleeping; he is working on his numbers. He understands that politics is a game of numbers,” he said.

His remarks come amid criticism over the opposition’s mobilisation efforts and his own commitment to the campaign against Ruto.
