EACC to Present 34,000 Pages of Evidence in KSh1.5 Billion Treasury Corruption Case.

‎The prosecution will present more than 34,000 pages of documentary evidence in the KSh1.2 billion National Treasury corruption case involving Treasury official Billy Obango and 33 other accused persons.

The alleged looted funds involves IFAD-funded PROFIT programme. ‎ ‎State Counsel Ms Susan Kelly told Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Rose Ndobi that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) had prepared approximately 400 pages of documents for each of the 34 accused persons. ‎ ‎The court heard that the prosecution could not serve the accused persons with the voluminous documents electronically or physically in court due to their large volume. ‎ Ms Kelly proposed that each accused person individually collect their respective trial documents from the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre during the week.
