Arati Reveals Mama Ida Odinga’s Message as ODM Faces Political Questions

Kisii Governor Simba Arati has revealed details of a phone conversation he had with Mama Ida Odinga, sharing a message he received from the widow of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Arati said Mama Ida called him and encouraged him to continue with his work of welcoming people into the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The governor’s remarks have drawn attention to the ongoing political conversations surrounding ODM and its future direction as leaders continue engaging supporters and strengthening the party.

According to Arati, Mama Ida appreciated his efforts and urged him to maintain the work he has been doing within the party.

Her reported message comes at a time when ODM is navigating important political discussions over its relationship with President William Ruto’s administration and the party’s position ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The party has remained a significant force in Kenyan politics, with its leaders facing growing public interest over the direction they intend to take in the coming months.

Arati’s account of the conversation also highlights the importance of party mobilisation and efforts to bring more people into ODM as political competition gradually intensifies.

The Kisii governor has continued to feature in discussions about the party’s activities, making his remarks about the phone call an important talking point among ODM supporters.

However, the message shared by Arati focused on encouraging him to continue welcoming people into the party. It does not, on its own, establish any new political agreement or change in ODM’s position.

As the 2027 elections approach, statements from party leaders and influential figures are likely to remain under close scrutiny as Kenyans follow the evolving political landscape.
