Gachagua Names Top UDA MP Who Allegedly Threatened Bishop To Stop His Attendance at PCEA in Kikuyu

Political friction in Kiambu County has taken a dramatic turn as former Deputy President and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has publicly accused National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah of trying to block his Sunday church service in Kikuyu Constituency.

According to reports circulated by political news outlet The Kenyan Vigilante, Gachagua has disclosed the explosive claims directly to congregants while addressing the congregation at PCEA Church Kamangu.

The opposition chief has alleged that Ichung’wah has personally threatened the presiding clergy member to prevent Gachagua from stepping inside the sanctuary for worship.

Questioning the intense political hostility directed at him, Gachagua has posed a sharp query asking why those who have ousted him from government have now attempted to banish him from places of worship as well.

The targeted allegations against the high-profile UDA lawmaker have added a fiery dimension to Gachagua’s ongoing tour across Mount Kenya.

As the former Deputy President has continued his speech from the pulpit, he has condemned state-aligned politicians for attempting to intimidate church authorities and dictate where opposition leaders can offer their prayers.

The explosive disclosures have further heightened political tensions in Kikuyu, setting a contentious backdrop for Gachagua’s scheduled roadside rallies across Kamangu, Kerwa, and Zambezi Town later in the day.
