Two Suspects Arrested After Fatal Robbery and Separate Stabbing Leaving One Dead in Nairobi’s Kibra

Two suspects have been arrested following a fatal robbery and a separate stabbing incident in Lindi, Kibra, Nairobi, that left one man dead and another seriously injured.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation in the Kingstone area. The attacks occurred on the morning of Friday, October 23, 2026, as the victims headed to work.

One victim, identified as 49-year-old Jacob Odhiambo Alube, was killed after allegedly resisting a robbery. Police said the attackers stole his valuables, including his mobile phone.

The assailants reportedly stabbed Alube in the chest and left thigh before fleeing. Responding officers found him dead at the scene. His body was later taken to Nairobi Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination.

Crime Scene Investigation officers examined the area as detectives collected evidence and pursued leads to identify those responsible for the killing.

In a separate attack on the same morning, 58-year-old Juma Jared was stabbed several times by two assailants. He sustained injuries to his upper left arm, chest and lower back.

Good Samaritans rushed Jared to Mbagathi Hospital for emergency treatment. He was later referred to Kenyatta National Hospital for further medical care.

According to the police, Jared was in fair and stable condition following the attack. Unlike Alube’s case, nothing was stolen from him, leaving detectives to investigate the motive behind the stabbing.

The two incidents prompted investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attacks and the people suspected of involvement.

The DCI confirmed that the two persons of interest were arrested during an intelligence-led operation in Kingstone. They remained in custody as detectives processed the cases ahead of their expected arraignment in court.

Investigators are pursuing evidence to establish the circumstances of both attacks and determine the suspects’ alleged roles in the incidents.
