SAD: Kilgoris Man Who Just Bought New Car With Friend Dies Before Getting It Home
A trip meant to bring a newly bought car home ended in tragedy for three men from Kilgoris, Narok County, after their vehicle crashed along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway, killing two of them.
According to reports shared on social media, the men had travelled to Mombasa to buy a Toyota Probox and were driving back to Kilgoris when the accident happened at Mtito Andei. Their vehicle reportedly rammed into a trailer.
Two of the occupants died at the scene. The third survived but suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The men are said to come from Keyian and Oldanyati areas, and news of their deaths has sent shockwaves through their local communities. Relatives and neighbours are now mourning two loved ones, while anxiously waiting for word on the survivor’s condition.
The identities of the deceased, the state of the injured man and the exact circumstances that led to the collision had not been independently established at the time of writing. It is also unclear who was driving or whether the vehicle was the newly bought Probox.
The stretch of road at Mtito Andei has seen several fatal accidents in recent times, and motorists are often urged to exercise caution, especially on long-distance journeys. The latest crash has once again highlighted the risks faced by travellers on the busy highway.
For the families in Kilgoris, a journey that began with hope and excitement over a new purchase has instead brought grief and uncertainty.
