ODM Chairperson Reveals Why She Believes Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi Leaders Betrayed Raila Odinga

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairperson Gladys Wanga has explained why she believes Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi faction have betrayed the late Raila Odinga’s political vision.

Wanga’s remarks come amid growing divisions within ODM over the party’s political direction, its relationship with President William Ruto’s administration and the future of the broad-based government arrangement.

The disagreements have exposed differences between leaders who support continued engagement with Ruto’s government and those who believe ODM should maintain a stronger opposition stance.

Sifuna, who serves as ODM secretary-general, has emerged as one of the prominent voices questioning the party’s current political direction. Leaders associated with Linda Mwananchi have also called for accountability and the protection of the principles that Raila championed throughout his political career.

Wanga’s criticism reflects concerns among some ODM leaders that the positions taken by Sifuna and his allies could undermine the party’s unity and its existing political arrangements.
