Mama Ida Odinga recalls romantic memories with Raila, reveals love for Gor Mahia and Arsenal

Mama Ida Odinga has shared touching memories of her late husband, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, recalling the happy moments they enjoyed together during holidays and their younger years.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive, Ida revealed that dancing was one of the activities they both enjoyed as a couple. She explained that their holidays were particularly memorable because they spent time together dancing and creating lasting memories.

Ida also recounted how their love story developed during their university days. According to her, Raila was playing football for Luo Union, and she would accompany others to watch the team play at City Stadium in Nairobi. She described those football outings as part of the beginning of their relationship.

Beyond sharing memories of her marriage, Ida revealed her passion for football, naming Gor Mahia and Arsenal as her favourite teams.

She also expressed support for AFC Leopards whenever the club plays, explaining that she has both Luhya and Luo roots.

Her recollections offered Kenyans a glimpse into the personal side of her relationship with Raila, showing how football, dancing and shared experiences formed an important part of their life together.
