John Methu Defies Heavy Police Deployment in Kajiado, Unleashes Scathing Attack on Ruto

DCP Secretary General John Methu has intensified his criticism of President William Ruto after visiting Kajiado town, where he claimed heavy police deployment failed to deter residents from standing their ground.

Methu used the visit to launch a blistering attack on the government over the reported shooting of 700 cows, accusing the President of presiding over an administration that resorts to force rather than addressing public concerns.

In a strongly worded statement, the Nyandarua Senator questioned the motive behind the reported killing of the livestock, describing it as a reflection of what he termed the President’s inferiority complex.

“Government shooting 700 cows to prove a point is a clear testimony of a government that’s led by a person with acute inferiority complex,” Methu said.

He also turned his attention to the economic hardships facing residents, arguing that Kajiado was experiencing the same pressures affecting households and businesses across Kenya.

According to Methu, the high cost of living and the difficulties confronting businesses have left many Kenyans struggling, with the situation reflecting what he described as the failures of Ruto’s leadership.

“The people of Kajiado are hurting just like the rest of Kenya, over an unbearable cost of living and collapsing businesses occasioned by the brutal leadership of Mr. William Samoei Ruto,” he stated.

The DCP Secretary General was hosted by Kajiado Senator Seki Ole Kanaar and Kajiado Central politician Moses Birisha during the visit.

He was accompanied by Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, Kitui Senator Wambua Kioo, Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo, Roysambu MP Kamande Mwafrika and Ol Kalou MP Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru-Ngotho.

The presence of the political delegation brought together leaders from several counties, with Methu using the occasion to highlight grievances he said were affecting residents beyond Kajiado.

His remarks added to the growing criticism directed at Ruto’s administration by opposition-aligned leaders over the cost of living, the business environment and the government’s handling of contentious public issues.

Methu, however, did not give further details about the circumstances surrounding the reported shooting of the 700 cows or identify the specific events that prompted the heavy police deployment in Kajiado town.
