Atiku’s America Move, Governors’ Exit: Ayodele Drops Fresh Warning Ahead of Tinubu’s 2027 Battle
In a recent video on Facebook on Wednesday October 14th, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele has raised concerns over the potential political implications of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar travelling to the United States to seek support ahead of the 2027 presidential election, warning that President Bola Tinubu’s possible defeat could trigger unexpected developments among Nigerian governors.
Ayodele, in a statement captured in a video, suggested that Atiku’s proposed trip to America could significantly alter the political landscape and influence the direction of Nigeria’s political system ahead of the crucial election.
According to him, Atiku’s visit to the United States could trigger political realignments and create uncertainty within the ruling political establishment.
“Atiku is planning to go to America. If Atiku goes to America, the whole terrain, the system will come and change,” Ayodele said.
The cleric further warned that some governors could take drastic steps if Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election, suggesting that certain political figures might not wait until the formal transfer of power before making their next move.
He claimed that the outcome of the election could have far-reaching consequences for governors aligned with the president, particularly those who may fear the political repercussions of a change in government.
“Some governors will not even wait till the day they will hand over their power,” Ayodele stated.
He also issued a direct warning to governors who might allow Tinubu to lose the election, suggesting that some could eventually leave the country.
“If you allow Tinubu to lose this election, some of you will not come to Nigeria again,” he warned.
Ayodele’s comments come as political conversations and calculations surrounding the 2027 presidential election continue to attract attention across Nigeria.
However, his remarks represent his own political predictions and warnings, rather than confirmation that Atiku has secured American support or that any Nigerian governor plans to leave the country if Tinubu loses
