The clip, posted on October 12, 2026, was filmed at what appears to be an outdoor garden setting, with lush trees and artificial turf visible in the background.

The warm and celebratory atmosphere was impossible to miss.

The 74-year-old has kept a relatively low public profile in recent years, making appearances only occasionally at social events.

That makes this sighting all the more striking for fans who grew up watching her break political barriers.

Ngilu is widely remembered for her historic presidential run in 1997, when she became one of the few women to challenge for Kenya's top seat, a feat that inspired a generation.

Seeing her laugh and dance freely, without an agenda or a podium, appears to have hit a genuine nerve online.
