Chelsea player ratings vs Bournemouth as Jordan Henderson shines in two 9/10s but Cole Palmer quiet
Jordan Henderson and Joao Pedro delivered outstanding performances as Chelsea secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
According to a report by Football London on Saturday, 10 October, 2026, Henderson and Joao Pedro both received ratings of 9/10 following their impressive displays, while Cole Palmer was awarded 6/10 despite contributing to the opening goal.
Chelsea took the lead after just one minute and six seconds when Henderson found the net from the edge of the penalty area after receiving a pass from Palmer.
Morgan Rogers doubled the advantage shortly afterwards, with his effort turning into an own goal by Bournemouth defender Antonio Silva.
Joao Pedro extended Chelsea’s lead within 30 seconds of the second half, finishing after Pedro Neto’s attacking move.
Bournemouth responded through Evanilson, who scored after the visitors benefited from Chelsea’s failure to clear a corner.
However, Joao Pedro restored the hosts’ three-goal cushion by completing his brace from Pep Chavarria’s delivery.
Henderson then capped his performance with a superb free-kick from around 25 yards to complete the scoring.
Henderson was named man of the match after controlling the midfield and scoring twice. The 36-year-old’s performance also justified head coach Xabi Alonso’s decision to retain him in the starting line-up after his debut against Brentford.
Joao Pedro also earned 9/10 for his two second-half goals, making a significant contribution after returning to the starting line-up following a knee injury.
Chavarria received 8/10 for his work on the left and his assist for Joao Pedro’s second goal. Rogers also earned 8/10 after helping Chelsea establish their early advantage and remaining influential throughout the match.
Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was awarded 7/10 after making an important double save in the first half to deny Rayan and Ryan Christie.
Palmer, who signed a new contract before the match, received 6/10. Although he was quieter than some of his teammates, the England international helped create Henderson’s opener and allowed the midfielder to take the free-kick that produced his second goal.
Levi Colwill, Maxence Lacroix, Josh Acheampong and Moises Caicedo also received 6/10 ratings. Neto was awarded 7/10 for his contribution on the right flank.
