I Have Been In Senate For 8 Years, This Is First Time I Will See Governors Fixing Roads-Remi Tinubu
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has praised state governors for constructing roads and providing infrastructure, saying she had not witnessed such developments during her eight years in the Senate.
Oluremi Tinubu made the remark during an interview on News Central TV on Saturday, October 10, 2026, while speaking at a North-Central grassroots rally organised in support of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to the First Lady, the level of infrastructure development by governors has caught her attention, particularly road construction and other projects aimed at improving public facilities.
She said, “I have been in the senate for 8 years. This is the first time I will see governors fixing roads, building alot of infrastructure.”
Her statement comes amid ongoing discussions about infrastructure development under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, as the government and its supporters continue to defend their performance amid public concerns over the rising cost of living.
Road construction and other infrastructure projects remain important responsibilities of state governments, although the scale and pace of development vary across states depending on available revenue, budget priorities and ongoing projects.
