Why Did You Leave Me and Go? — Yinka Quadri Reflects on Late Friend Taiwo Hassan Ogogo

Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has expressed sadness over the death of his longtime friend and colleague, legendary actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, saying he would ask him why he left him behind if he had the opportunity to meet him again. Quadri made the remark during an interview on the African A-List Podcast, shared on YouTube on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

While responding to a question about what he would say to Ogogo if he had the opportunity to see his late friend again. Reflecting on the reality of death, the veteran actor noted that although people might wish to see their departed loved ones again, the dead do not return to life.

“This one you are saying, we are only thinking about it, because those that are dead won’t come back alive any longer, and it will be scary when somebody that has died and you suddenly saw such person,” Quadri said.

He, however, acknowledged that people could encounter deceased loved ones in their dreams, explaining that such an experience would provide an opportunity to express feelings that might otherwise remain unspoken.

Asked what he would say to Ogogo if they met again, Yinka Quadri revealed that he would want to know why his friend had left him behind. “But it is possible in the dream. What I would like, what I will ask him is, ‘Why do you decide to leave me and go?’” he said.
